Lesson 11 -  Living on a Dollar a Day 

“Four college students traveled to rural Guatemala to live on just $1 a day for two months. They battled hunger, parasites, and the realization that there are no easy answers to solving extreme poverty. Yet, the generosity and strength of their neighbors – Rosa, Anthony, Chino, and others – left them a resilient optimism.

While in Guatemala, they released short YouTube videos about the experience to help their friends and family stay connected and learn alongside them in real time. The videos quickly received over 700,000 views, inspiring them to create a feature-length film and launch a movement that has since reached millions of people worldwide and raised over $1 million for poverty-related causes.”
